I have a 3020 gas S/N 134676R and the distributor housing is broken completely off just below the lugs that receive the cap retainer screws. The local John Deere dealer tells me the the distributor is no longer available. Can anyone give me information as to where I might find a complete distributor? I know it's made by Delco but haven't found a Delco number on it.

Well John, when I posted I didn't know why it had broken. Then I went back and took a better look at it and, lo and behold, the advance weights had rubbed it clean into from the inside. Don't know enough about the way it's supposed to be made to know why it happened but suspect someone tinkered with it before I bought the tractor and didn't put it back together right. If you know of someone in your neck of the woods or anywhere else who's got one for sale please let me know.

John, I'm located in Waggaman, Louisiana just on the outskirts of New Orleans. I believe the tractor was built in 1973+/- and it is a synco-range. I posted the serial number above. There was just enough metal left so that I could put the housing back together exactly and secure it with clamps. Now I am in the process of repairing it inside and outside with JB Weld. Looks like it's going to be ok. Thanks for all the contacts but I may not need them. I have determined that it is a Delco Remy and has the following numbers on it: 1112648 9F26.
