I have a 41 John Deere H that I am restoring. I have heard several people talking about an original 7 hole seat for John Deere 2 cylinders. My H seat has only 5 holes. Is this original? Is there a list of what seat belongs on what tractor? Thanks.

Donny, My 41H has a 9 hole on it. I feel it's the original seat, as this tractor was a well kept, original before restoration. What I've been told is the earlier the tractor, the more holes in the seat. Will's years sound possible to me. HMan

First, I am really into B's, not H's. But here is the seat info I have for the B's. 9 hole was through late 41. 42 and 43 and maybe all of 44 was 7 hole. 45 and part of 46 is 5 hole. By mid to late 46 it was 3 hole to the end of the pan seat tractors death at early 47. The H was probably close in this info too.
Hope this helps alittle.

Will P.
