I have a 47 model D that was converted to LP gas sometime in the early 50's. My grandpa bought the tractor second hand and he didn't know anything about who did the conversion. Are there any others out there? It is a rice tractor and was used in the Weiner, AR area.

Jon, There is a man in Frisco, Texas who has one. He also has a late style B that is LP, plus factory 50,730 and 4020 LP. Has a John Deere 45 Combine [gas]. He work them year round. CW

you should take a spark plug out and see if you can see the piston top. LP pistons are higher compression. much more so than all fuel and even more than gas pistons. more compression, more power.
