Does anybody know how to remove the oil line nut that is inside the crankcase connected to the cylinder block? The governor is off and the entire top of the crankcase is exposed and open, but it is difficult to even see the nut, much less remove it. The service manual has one sentence dedicated to this task. It just says to remove it. It seems there is no room for a wrench to fit. Is a special tool required? The overall objective is to remove the cylinder block to put new sleeves in. Thanks.

You need to disconnect the piston connecting rods from the crank and push the pistons all the way forward. This will give you greater access. However, since I have larger forearms and hands, I found it easier to disconnect the line on top of the oil pump. Then you can pull then block forward enough to disconnect the line behind the block. You will need to access the connection with 2 wrenches from underneath the tractor. Let me warn you, once you disconnect the pistons from the crank, do not pull them back. Once the bottom oil ring comes out of the cylinder, you will need to break the tractor in half to get the block out.
