How many watts is the heater rated for & what is the actual voltage at the end of the extension cord? Power/heat will drop to 75% of rated capacity if terminal voltage drops to just 104V. Very common problem. Is the tractor parked sheltered in shed or outside with the wind hitting it? A 1500W heater should have the block warm to the touch in 45 minutes at 32F. Double the time for 0F.

Should be warm enough in 2 hrs , if it's the JD heater like I have on my 4020 , mine is the old style that mounts below the generator . My 4020 is a hard starter and 2-3 hrs works when it gets that cold so a 3020 is smaller less coolant to heat . When 4020's were new we bought those heaters for $40-50 I thought that was a lot then , talk about inflation . JIM
