I want to buy a new white-faced water temp guage for my 44 B. They say to specify the length of the lead: 2', 3', 4' 6'. Which one do I need for this tractor? Sorry, I don't have the old one to compare it with.

Tom, I would take a tape measure out and measure from that top hole in the dash down to the upper water pipe where the fitting is for the temp sensor and see what you get. See what it matches for sizes and get the size that gives you that much length or a little more. You should be able to bend the cable around some but be sure you have enough length to secure the line to the fanshaft bolt to minumize the vibration because I think these guages are filled with ether so you don't want the metal to leak and ruin the guage.
