OK Deere friends - What's the story on these all green 520's? I saw one a few weeks ago down in Renfro Valley, and I've got a line on another one for sale. It sounds like it will make an excellent project, but it needs a block, if anyone just happens to have one lying around in the way... So...how many 520's were all green? My book doesn't say anything about it, it just shows the paint as two tone. Does anyone know the serial # they started painting green and yellow? Are there other all green 20 series floating around? I think I saw a picture of a green 420 on here once. Sorry to get long winded. The thought of another JD coming home after Dad sold the 430 years ago gets me kinda excited. Thanks for your help. I'm sure someone will know my answer. Fireman

There were some early all green 420's built. Most I think were High Crops. This variation is listed in a recent issue of Two-Cylinder Magazine. Also I saw a Barber Greene 50 listed in a consignment auction recently so there is at least one around.

They didn't make any all green 520 tractors. The
yellow part is actually a decal and has probably
peeled off over the years revealing the original
green paint underneath.

I don't know of any 520's painted all green, but that don't mean there wasn't. I do know that the first of the 420's, serial # 80001-94818 were all green.

The all green 420s were out a year ahead of the 520-820. They were painted to match the still currant 50-60-70-80 tractors Waterloo was building. When the Waterloo 20 series was introduced, they ALL had the yellow trim markings and the Dubuque tractors, including the "all new"
320 recieved the new Yellow markings as well.

There were a few 50 tractors which were shipped to the Barber-Greene Company for modification as a (snow) windrow loader. These tractors were painted a darker shade of green, and had green wheels as well. Perhaps there MIGHT have been a few 520s so modified---THEY would certainly be "all green" if any exist. If they exist, for I have never seen or heard of any, but I suppose it IS possible.

If it is all green it is not painted the original colors of green and yellow or it is a 50. There were no all green 520s.
