Looking at a JD #9 sickle bar mower for a JD 40-TW. Mower is clean and complete, 7' bar.

Opinions on this model mower - reliability, parts availability, etc.? Price seems right, and in my area, hard to find good, operable sickle bars which are not beaten to death under $1500-1700.

Any problems with this mower to be aware of?

I have a #9 mower and use it every year. I have had to replace a seal and that is the only thing I have had to do to it. I works really good. The thing I will really stress is to get the operators manual to get it set up right on your tractor. Good luck.
