What would cause the hydraulics, steering and three point lift to not work when the tractor is first started. After a short time the sterring will work and the rest of the system will work fine.

Is it possible to put a side counsel on the 4010? side counsel would make the loader easyer to operate.

i dont think you could do it but if you could it would be much more of a hassle then operating the loader with the ones i teh dash..... where you from? here about a year ago i seen a 63 jd 4010 nf and 148 loader sell in southern missourah.....just curious....the hyds could be caused by low oil level or a partially clogged filter.....all of my jds do that...on the loader you could run its own set of remote valves that way it wouldnt tie up your tractor hyds...just a thought.

When you start your tractor make for sure your tractor is in park and then take your foot off of the clutch pedal, now start your tractor. When you start the tractor and keep your foot on the clutch pedal in the disengaged position you starve the hydraulic pump for oil. You can get a mid mount coupler kit and install a wobble stick on your fender to control your loader. You will also need to "t" into the pressure line either just in front of the dash or under the footrest before it goes into the rockshaft. You will then need to return the oil through a ported filter cover. This will give you the maximum oil for running your loader with a wobble stick. A wobble stick is like what you would see on a backhoe. Hope this helps and good luck.

??? I have same problem with my JD 4000 when starting up the Hydraulics is slow till the press gets high in order it works.. I think the Hydraulics pump is in front of tractor. I always check Hydraulics oil to be sure it's full, I have a loader on it. Why keep foot off clutch pedal? if you have it down it helps engine to start up easy.

If you start the tractor with the clutch pedal down then you starve the transmission pump for oil and create a brief air lock to the front hydraulic pump. Sometimes when the transmission pump starts to get weak the problem will seem to happen more frequently or take a little longer to get the hydraulic oil moving. If you want to help the tractor to turn over the engine faster when cranking then turn the steering wheel back and forth. This destrokes the front pump. If you live in a cold environment you can get an electric destroke kit from Deere. By destroking I mean you put the front pump in neautral. The pump in the transmission creates flow and the front pump creates pressure. Hope I haven't confused or bored you to much.
