started to remove 39' rear flat spoked wheel today (so i could rebuild splines on clutch side crank, thats anouther story). thought every thing was going too easy when i realized i was pulling the male taper from the hub. it had been broken before and welded. so the broken male taper is clamped on the axle, and is in the female wheel collar. i've got a good gear puller seated against the axle center and pulling against the wheel collar and blaster sprayed on. i'll apply heat next. any ideas fellows.

as the puller is tightened up, tap the insde of the wheel with a six or eight pound sledge or heavier, light taps, and pray. good luck. john in Ne.
