On my B (I have gotten it started and runs well now :) ) The clutch will snap in and out but will not disengage, I am imagining that something is wrong. Any ideas as to what it could be?

Thanks,

Karl

Karl, if it snaps then your problem is either the plates are not releasing or the bearing or bushing is frozen up in the clutch pulley. First thing is to pull the pulley cover & then the outer plates & if nothing there pull the clutch driver (mark it to the crank before removing), make sure the 3 bolts are free in their holes,if after pulling the plates it still is frozen to the crank you have a bad bearing or bushing....What did it take to get it started?

Actually all it needed was a little more gas... adjusted the throttle screw a little bit more and all was good :) Ran it a little while then decided to disengage clutch which is when I noticed this problem.

I did notice that when I had the tractor in gear and had the clutch disengaged, the clutch really was disengaged.

I must admit that I am a little confused as to what I am looking for, as I am not to familiar with how it works, yes I have taken the clutch apart, but I am not to familiar as to what is what.

Thanks,

Karl

Karl, if the clutch will dis-engage with the trans in gear it sounds like all you might have is an incorrectly adjusted pulley brake. If the brake is adjusted too loose, when the hand lever is pulled to the rear it will allow the pulley to move too far & the inner clutch disk will start to re-engage & the harder you pull the lever the harder the clutch will try to engage. Adjust the pulley brake to stop the pulley with very little movement of the hand lever after dis-engagment & see if that helps your problem.
