I'm sure this question has been asked before but the 3 point hitch settles down within a day of being used. When starting tractor it comes right up to position although it chatters slightly. What causes this? Please help

Its been said here that all JD's do this. I have a 3020 that does the same thing. Not really a problem as long as the engine is running but the hitch should stay up. I had a 4430 and it stayed up fine. I have been told that it is caused by leakage(naturally or it wouldn't go down) but I can't remember just where. I have had this tractor for going on 10 years and its never posed a problem. I look to go through every hydraulic valve on it soon. I had a fire on the tractor in 99 and put it in the shop and drove it out in 5 weeks(workin on it a little at a time). hope this information helps, give me a holler if I can help.

yes all jds do this all of mine do any way. i believe in a service manuel on one of the tractors it says its supposed to do this. the achattering you hear is the 3pt mechanizum trying to get fluid but is being starved because the tractors not turning enough rpms to get the pressure it needs. does it make your tractors hard to start when it does this? it does mine.. hope i could help
