Problem w/ keeping it running

I have a 1961 - 3010 gas. It was recently tuned up. The next project was to bush hog. It ran for approx. 4-5 hrs and started to sputter and died. All the lights and power went out for about 30 seconds until the automatic breaker reset. The lights came back on and could then be restarted. After that it would only run at 2000rpm for about 15 seconds and would shut off. If I run it at a lower rpm it does not cut out as often. Thinking it might be a weak breaker, I replaced it. Same problem. I also replaced the ignition switch thinking it might have gotten oil in it from a cut hose and could be shorting out. Still the same problem. Now when it starts cold, it will run for 5-10 minutes before cutting out the first time and then starts the 15 seconds on and 30 off routine. Running out of patience & money. Any ideas?

Your circuit breaker is telling you that something is drawing too much current. You have a relatively low resistance "short" someplace in the electrical system. I would get the multimeter out, isolate circuits, (i.e. starter, lights, ignition) and measure resistance. It would be helful to have a good schematic of the electrical system. Did debris from the Bush-Hog hit and damage any part of the electrical system. I am leaving town for a couple of days. I don't have time now as I am on the way out of town for a couple of days, if you don't get any other help send me an E-Mail. I have an original 3010 service manual someplace in the basement.
