I have '47 'A' and the clutch works pretty good. Except that the harder you pull back on the pulley brake, the faster the pulley wants to turn. If the lever is in the middle the pulley barely turns at all, like it should. I've adjusted the three nuts so that it snaps into place. Is there anything else I could try? Any help would be appreciated.

Tim, the pulley brake is out of adjustment. If the pulley brake doesn't come on early enough the clutch will start to re-apply when the lever is pulled to the rear. Just adjust the pulley brake to come on with VERY LITTLE pull of the lever after the clutch is dis-engaged & your problem should go away.

Tim I'm working on a B at this time.and its got the same problem,I adjusted the bolt on the linkage where lever wouldn't come back as far but yet engage pulley brake.Very much load and the clutch will slip, remedy is about $120.00 of parts the clutch dogs and toggles need to be replaced, theres three of each toggles are $5.95 ea. and dogs are $29.00 ea. be sure to check bolts and see if there is excessive wear you might want to replace them to.
