My 630 starts great, runs great for 15 min.-dies. Restarts and runs 1-3 min.-dies. I can let it sit 10-15 min, restart, runs 5-10 min.-dies.
I have read all archives, rebuilt the carburator, replaced a leaking coil, condenser, plugs, plug wires, fuel line and cleaned the sediment bowl.
This 630 is supposed to have a oil pressure fuel cut off but I don't see any oil pressure tubes attached to it. Is there a fuel cleaning screen anywhere? Another filter that I haven't found? Help!

You might take the gas line loose at the carb and see if a good stream of gas is present there. The next step would be to drain the float bowl and see if there is a good flow of gas there. On the electrical side, make sure someone hasn't removed the resistor somewhere in the past. That would put a full 12 volts to the coil, and cause the coil to overheat and fail, then when cooled a little work again untill this repeats. Had a 49 A doing that.

Even though I cleaned the sediment bowl assembly the first time I got the tractor, all your comments indicated I check it again and sure enough a twig had lodged itself in the passage from the gas tank to the sediment bowl. I'm up and running like a champ. Thanks to all of you for your support of us newbies.

Terry, if you have an all-fuel 630 (very rare) it wouldn't have an oil pressure shutoff. More than likely someone took the original off. There is a strainer screen under a nut on top of the carb just above the fuel line attachment fitting that could be plugged. It sure sounds like it is running out of fuel. The fitting in the tank could be plugged or plugging. Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the carb & see if you get a pencil sized stream of fuel for at least 30 seconds, if not loosen the gas cap & try it again there could be a plug (mud daubbers etc.) in the vent line. If you still can't get a good flow you have a restriction somewhere.

Clooney is correct. One place that I have found is that the fuel bowl inlet is stopping up from big particals of rust or dirt. You will need to drain the fuel tank and remove the sediment bowl from the tank. Open the shut off valve and try to blow through it. I have seen them stop up in the valve area and act as if the valve is cracked open and causing a fuel path restriction. Easy to clean and open the fuel path.
