I have a '63 JD 4010 Diesel that I am thinking about taking to the county fair, not to show, but to disk with on our oat ground. It had one rear rim that the previous owner has run loose and the rim wedges have ate into the rim. Would welding around the rim wedges be an ok idea, have saw it done. I dont have the cash to go out and buy new ones at the moment. I didnt know if anybody else had any ideas or not. Thanks!

If you try welding the rim you should break the tire down and remove both tire and tube before getting it hot. You may want to check with a local wrecking yard as well. I have some addresses and numbers if you are interested.

I don't see what it would hurt. Just be careful with it and keep a close eye on it. you could put on new wedges and put it on the other rib.
