Coolant usage

I know this tractor is new, but my JD model 425 garden tractor uses a little coolant. The dealer put new head gaskets on it, but it still uses a little bit of antifreeze. It's got the Kawasaki 20hp v-twin. Has anyone heard of this or experienced it?

Mine does the same thing. Dealer replaced head gasket (so he says) and I still add coolant about every 5 hours. Mine also looses coolant into the cylinders while under load. Example, when mowing up a grade it will let off blue smoke big time for a few seconds. Looks like a big smoke machine. John Deere denies any wrong doing but I say different. I did find a loose hose connection when I noticed antifreeze spots on the mower deck. I fixed that but still add antifreeze about every 3-5 hours.

My 425 with 600 hours on it never uses oil or coolant. Somethings amiss with your machine. Look at the block drain plugs, and make sure there not cross threaded or loose.
