Three Point working after THREE YEARS

I finally got it figured out and fixed. Over the years, I have asked for advise regarding my rock-shaft, three point hitch and power-trol. I could engage the power-trol lift and it would lift the implement but then drop without the power-trol engaged. This week I'm on vacation so I bought a used rock-shaft assembly and hoped that it would work. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with mine although I had replaced the leathers and cup and switched from a "power-lift" to a power-trol. I was going to put a new leather ring and cup on the new piston and discovered it was different than what I had. I thought I'd just pull the old piston out of the old unit and discovered that the gasket looked different than the new one. A part of the gasket had blown allowing oil to leak out of the rock-shaft cylinder. I made a new gasket and slapped her together and she works like it just came out of the factory!!! Dirty work though. Grading my road will be a pleasure again--should it ever rain in Kansas again.

Thanks for the advise, Jon
