Bought a new GT 235 John Deere lawn mower at the beginning of this season. Use it to cut 3+ acres per week. Changed oil and oil filter for first time recently and added oil until about half way between add and full on stick. Ran for several minutes and then added a little oil to bring it up to near the full mark on the oil dipstick.
Used it the next day to cut and, after about an hour it started running very rough. Checked the oil and it was considerably above the full mark and the plugs were extremely fouled. Drained the oil out down to the full mark and cleaned the plugs. It ran fine for about 30 minutes, but then it almost stopped again. Checked plugs again and they needed cleaning again. Each time I clean them, it runs for about 30 minutes and stops again. What damage have I done?
How do I repair it?
Thanks for any information anyone may be able to provide.

Can't help, but I own the same mower and have noticed that if you put in the recommended amount of oil (1 and 3/4 qt.) the level does seem to run high. I've had no problems with running though. I did just change plugs this weekend and found one slightly fouled, which in over 2 years of use didn't seem bad. Might want to ask the dealer about it. Let us know what you find out.
