Just for your information, there will be 60-70 antique JD tractors auctioned off in Valmeyer, Il on Saturday. The collection was restored and maintained by a man that was a mechanic at the local JD dealership. He passed away last year and his family has decided to sell most of his collection. If anyone would like more information on the auction, I will post details (if anyone is interested) as soon as I find the paper.

I will vouche for the quality of Mr. Niebruegge's collection. I had the opportunity to meet him last spring, a couple of months before he died. He helped me to troubleshoot some fitment problems with a replacement starter for my 630. I had to go to his shop in Valmeyer to find my old starter, and I about fell over when I saw a shed full of JD's, tire to tire. From my understanding, He had around 90 tractors, and his family is selling 70 of them. My Dad went down for the inspection today, and said there are some very nicely restored tractors for sale, along with some very original ones. I'll be there tomorrow, but I'm sure most everything will be out of my price range. Oh well.

Gentlemen,
Complete information on the auction can be found at www.aumannauctions.com. The date of the auction is tomorrow, Sat 8/18. This is a collection you have got to see.
I'm originally from the area, Monroe County, Allyn was Mr John Deere. I can remember as a kid how he always had his JDs in the local parades and always at the county fair, tractor pulling singles & doubles or helping out one way or another. You always knew Allyn was near with his johnnie poppers.
I've been told he was buried in his JD work clothes, just the way everyone knew him.
I wish I could be at that sale, it would really be something to see.

If you have the click on web address for the auction house...that would be fine. Just make sure we have the name of the estate, too.
Or, if you can get it all as text to post here, that would be great.
