First, had to rebuild motor. Lost head gasket. Decked the head and block, new rings, new gaskets of govenor, fan shaft, plus the usual for a redo. Problem. Got it running again. Ran break in oil in engine to break in rings. Got it on a Letz grist mill. Full throttle it will back fire thought the carb running at 1200. Back it off, running at 900 and it wont miss a beat. Start in 6th gear full throttle and it will sputter and back fire. Start 2/3 throttle in 6th and no problem. ???? Got mag, Wico C, solid core wires, Autolite 386. DLTX34. CARB problem or mag???? Play with load neetle under load dousn't help. Plugs fould? Ran good befor I took it apart. Just kept getting water in one cylinder. Thanks Guys.

I would check your condenser and points - had a similar problen with a 60 series-ran good except under load-it was the condenser.
