I have a 1935 JD "D". I have the clutch drive assembly off and the snap ring with felt washer removed. I can pull the pulley about one inch then it hits a stop of some sort. What is holding it on ? Thanks MJZ

Marty,
I am going to give this a shot, I am no expert, but maybe I can help. I just went through the exact process with my '41 B. I believe you are going to have to remove the hand clutch lever and take the fork bearing off. (There were four bolts on my "B".) After the 4 bolts are removed, the clutch assembly won't come out unless you push your pulley all the way in (towards the tractor), and then the clutch assembly should come out easily, and you can pull your pulley right off. (If you don't push that pulley in, you won't be able to get the clutch assembly out.) This is something I was able to do with instructions from Clooney...it worked well. (Note: before you remove the four bolts, disengage the clutch.)
Hope that helps,
gary
