Alright yall, I must admit that I am a Farmall guy and even work at a Case IH dealer. Anyhow, I hope you won't hold that against me. I have run across a JD M sitting in some weeds.....that i might be able to get. It has a 5' heavy duty JD bushhog, front blade, and a disk. My question is, how many horsepower is this tractor? The other question is what is it worth? I tried to turn the fan to see if the engine was stuck, but the belt was loose and slipped. It has been sitting out for 2-3 years, but someone did think at least to put a can over the muffler. It looks to be in fair shape, okay paint and pretty straigt sheet metal. I believe it ran when it was parked. If yall could help me out I would appreciate it, if my boss knew I was looking at getting a little John Deere he might fire me!

I have 2 "M" tractors. They are really strong for their size. I once bought an "MT" that had a stuck engine. I used marvel oil and finally got the engine loose. The tractor ran good after. As for price, it is worth whatever you think you can pay for it. I would say top end would be about $800-$1000, but thats something you'll have to figure out. JIM

This is according to the site>Link

20.45>Link hp belt
18.15 hp drawbar

I don't have any of my books here with me to look up the info from the nebraska test. I have an MT and it is similar in horsepower so this sounds about right. Not a big tractor good for some small work.

the other thing about the M and MT are they have a foot clutch. JD 2 cyl tractors all had hand clutches.
