Good catalog for parts?

Well,

I just got back from the Deere Dealer, and I'm still suffering sticker shock!

Turns out that the belt pulley bearing and associated parts will set me back about $75.

That's nothing compared to the fan pinion gear (the little gear that turns the fan off the governor) which will set me back a whopping $275!

I've already given these guys a couple hundred dollar for a handful of gaskets, pins, and snap-rings, and I'd rather cut it off at that.

I know that some parts can't be had elsewhere, but there *must* be a catalog *somewhere* that carries a lot of the parts I'll need.

Anyone care to steer me in the right direction?

I'm especially worried about the governor pinion and the fan pinion. I can salvage the governor gear, but the fan pinion got pretty boogered up (it was shot anyway) when I tried to pull it. I still haven't got it off either! The teeth on that gear are worn to little blades so sharp you could shave with them!

If that price is too high, you can always try to make your own gears.

Chris, those fan gears should be replaced as a set, if you don't it will scream for quite a while & there is even the chance the gears will not mesh good enough to last very long & send little pieces of metal into the engine.

Cloony is right, those gears MUST be replaced as a matched set. That's the only way you can order them from your Deere dealer.

Well,

seems I acted a bit hastily.

Turns out that the pinion for the fan isn't $275. that's the price for the entire gear set (fan and governor pinion...)

Still pretty steep!
