In our part of the country a decent 4020 with powershift equiped as you say with good tires and batteries will sell for near 10,000. as new stuff gets more expensive the old does too. not sure what they sell for in other parts of the country, I'm from Washington(the state)

In Iowa, that tractor would be worth nearer to $12,500, running and with decent rear tires. Especially if it is a side console model. On the other hand, a rusty appearance, bad tires, and questionable engine would lower that price rather quickly. What do a new seat, paint job, decals, tires, and "estimated" engine repairs cost? If you know those things, and subtract that number from your "desired" final resale price, you will know what you can pay and still have a margin for profit.

Make for sure the powershift is in good condition. Look at the filter closely and inspect the Hydraulic oil and sump screen. When a powershift goes out you can just about buy the tractor again in a repair bill.
