I have a 2020 diesel that began overheating. Noticed that oil was foaming out the dipstick and then drained about 4.5 gal of fluid out the oilpan. It doesn't appear to be coolant because the radiator is topped off. Can it possibly be hydraulic fluid???? Do I have a cracked block/blown head gasket - or is it something else?

Does the oil smell like diesel fuel ? the injector pump can leak from the shaft seals and do this also. Don

Nope. Looks, feels, and smells more like hydraulic fluid.

If the tractor has a seperate hydraulic pump for the power steering, there is a freeze like plug on the back of the power steering pump that is leaking. You have to take the pump off and re-seal the plug with JB WELD. Also prick punch the housing around the plug before applying JB WELD. This type system uses hydraulic oil from the tractor. I have had this happen twice. The last time it was a new pump. Good luck

The first 2020s had open center power steering, with a small gear pump mounted on the timeing gear cover. If the seal is blown on the pump drive, it will fill the crankcase with hyd. oil in a matter of minutes. If the pump is beyond repair, they are not cheap $1000.

I'm sure that's the problem - I have an early model and the steering has been "whining" slightly. Hope it's fixable! Thanks for the info!
