What is proper setting for carb float on 1948 gas A? JD Carb book says 3/8", 1951 Service Bulletin says 1/2", I&T says 3/8".

I have been setting mine at 1/2 inch minimum, and sometimes a little lower on a worn carb. The 3/8 setting seems to allow easier flooding. Getting the float too low seems to make for harder starting. Make sure the nozzle is free and holes are all clean in the nozzle.
