I'm looking to buy a 47 B with a narrow front (not Roll-a-Matic) and I want to convert it to a wide front, what do I visually look for to determine if this is possible and will a wide front from an A fit a B? Thanks ffor the help.

Cultivated corn with a 1950 BW (brand new). It took about 16 rows to make a U-turn with it - the wide front wheels don't turn very far, about as much as a car. It was returned to the dealer to get a narrow frontend within weeks, and it had a happy life as a narrow B. Your narrow front '47 w/o Rollamatic is a nice setup, steers much easier than a Rollamatic, turns on a dime, fits in a narrow spot in the shed. But, if you want to change it, you'll need a 2-piece pedestal - one that comes apart where the front-wheel assembly bolts to the tractor. It's possible that the '47 could already have it, some were delivered that way.

Just out of curiousity why do you want to convert it?

You need not only the wide front but the pedestal as well. I've seen wide fronts go for about $2000

Hope this helps!

You need a two piece pedistal to install the wide
front. The round axel off an A will fit.
