HI All
I have just started fooling around with a JD 70LP tractor. The thing is great. I have a couple of questions.

1. The PTO I have is operated by a clutch lever on the right side of the seat. The first time I engaged it, the PTO seemed to work fine. When I disengaged the clutch the slight braking action by downward pressure on the lever didn.t seem to work and I have been unable to get the clutch to engage. I don't want to force it. any ideas.

2. Can a narrow front end be converted to a wide front end.

3. anyone know of a source of parts for the LP system I am pretty sure the part that atomizes the fuel is not working.

thanks for any help

The LPG doesn't 'atomize', it decompresses. It's under pressure while liquid until going thru the filter, converter, and carb. If it's great does that mean it looks great or runs great? The LP fuel system is usually trouble free. If you actually need parts, ask your local, small propane supplier. (Big companies like Ferrellgas won't help you 'cause of big business liabilities) Note: The factory service manual covers LPG systems.

Hi:

About #1.) Are you saying it won't reengage or it won't disengage?

About #2.) Yes, the wide front end is interchangeable. You can also use a single front or you can even install the front end from a standard tractor. If you want to be correct, the same round tube wfe used on the A,B,G is correct up until sn 7017500. After that, the "square tube" wfe was available also (but it costs twice as much for some reason).

About #3.) My tractor is a gasoline model, so I haven't needed to worry. Check out suppliers who advertise in the two major "brand" magazines.

There are two levers that control the powershaft. The lever beside the seat operates the independant clutch. This clutch is in the housing from which the pto shaft emerges. There is also a separate lever, locared next to the hi-lo transmission shift lever which engages the gears. Both must be "on" for the pto to work. Is your pto shaft gear lever engaged first, when you pull the clutch lever?
