A friend and i took the head off of my h last night to have it and the valves checked. Tonight we were going to take the pistons out and hone the cyliders but we have run into a problem. The castle nuts that fasten the connecting rods are pretty much frozen. It takes a 5/8 wrench but even that wants to try to strip the nut. Any suggestions as to how we can get them off working in the confined space that we have? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Best way is to use a six point socket and ratchet. You can turn the crankshaft to position each connecting rod so that you can get the socket over the nut.

If the nuts are already too buggered for that, about your only choice is vice grips. Clamp over a nut and use a screwdriver between the jaws to twist.
