My dad is restoring a 1949 JD A. He had to demolish the 2 screws that hold the floorpan on. Does anyone know where to find some of these, or can you get them at a fastener store?

I got my replacement step plate bolts through the local JD dealer for 53 cents apiece. Got the internal lock washer in the specialty fastener section of Lowe's (home improvement warehouse).

As an alternative, these people were at Expo XI in Michigan. They seemed to have fasteners covered pretty well. Prices were what you�d expect. I don�t know that they were any better or worse than going to your dealer, just another option.

Does anyone have any experience ordering from Correct Connection?I have called them four times over a three mounths period trying to get a catalog,nothing yet.Every time I call they promise to send one but never do.Tried to describe what I needed over the phone but could not get close enough to feel comfortable about placing an order.Just wondering,if they can't mail a catalog,how about parts?

Alvin, I have placed many orders with them & have had no problem getting the order delivered. One thing to keep in mind is that most of these little home based restoration parts companies attend a lot of summer tractor shows & usually close up shop to attend the weekend shows, the best time to call them in the summer is Tuesday or Wednesday.

They were passing them out at Expo. Actually, it�s more of a price sheet (4 page) than a catalogue. If you want to e-mail your address I�ll send you a copy, or I can give you specifics via e-mail.

My JD dealer got me 2 about 3 years ago. Even had them in stock as best I remember.

I also bought the screws as recently as last year at my JD dealer. They didn't have the proper internal-toothed cone lockwashers any more (I don't recall if they are no longer available, or if they had to order them).
