Hey fella's,
I am changing rear tires on my 4020. I'm going from 16.9x34 goodyears which only measure 60 inches tall to 18.4x38 firestone field and roads with nearly new tread. How will jumping up the 3 tire sizes affect my ground speed? will first gear now be the same as second used to be? If not what will the percentage increase be? Let me know what to expect. Thank you all in advance, Greg H.

The 16.9x34 has a rolling distance of 185 inches and the 18.4x38 has 206 increase of about 11%. You should be able to figure it from that. Smart way to go is what your doing that 18.4x38 is a lot more avaible in the used market.Good luck

Much more traction & improved crop yields while burning less fuel will be achieved with radial tires. Will allow reduction or elimination of ballast & improve the ride quality. They would still a bargin if manufactures doubled the price of radials. If you are going "bigger" for more traction you could save yourself the cost of a pair of new rims.
