Fred: It sure sounds like a fuel flow problem. I have a 70D, and there have been some upgrades/changes between those models, but I'll offer my 2 cents. Areas where I have had problems in the past, and in the order I'd check them: 1) Sediment bowl valve...should flow fuel just fine. Once had a plugged tank vent pipe and noticed it as the tank began to cave in. 2)Sediment bowl screen...no tears/cracks or weed chaff. 3) Fuel transfer pump...needs to be working, not sure of the pressure, but around 10-20 psi if I remember rightly. 4) First stage fuel filter....remove bleed plug, should flow fuel in a steady, no bubbles stream. 5)Second stage fuel filter....same as above...steady, bubble-free stream. 6)Bleed plug, injector fuel rail, left side of block...remove plug, again a steady, bubble-free stream. If it's running on just one cylinder, is it running RIGHT on that cylinder ? If it is, then the fuel supply is probably all right, and you have a pump/injector problem. My experience with the air side is that it will bog down on either cylinder, and smoke black, but the air cleaner certainly bears checking like Shorty says....cheap to check. Next thing will be pump timing/pump lift. If you have the JD service manual, it goes through this in good detail. If you don't have the book, I'd be getting one, as this tends to save a lot of money in the long run. Keep us posted. Frank-in-Tallahassee 70D // 855
