I had to work on a 70 yesterday and am interested in how simmilar they are to my G's. From trans back they look very close, ie gear reduction cover ,3 speed hi-lo, hyd lift, brakes etc etc. Do some parts exchange??? Thanks, Mike

The only way to be certain is to purchase both parts manuals from Deere wholesale at 1-800-522-7448. A bone stock 70 gas will out pull/out work a G on less fuel with power steering, live pto & hydraulics. While comparing latter technology & different design intentions of the 520/530 to the G is hardly fair. The 190 cubic inch tractors will take a G in most applications as well.

That would be an interesting match... a well driven well tuned G against a similar 520/530. For pure lugging torque my money is on the G with more cubes...

Definitely better creature comforts on the 20's and 30's though... Love the sound of a G pulling!

Mike the 70 is the newer version of the "G". "G", 70,720,730 are all the "G" family some of the parts will interchange especially the all-fuel version of the 70 it shares the same bore and stroke as the "G" but the gas,LP,and diesel do not. the rockshaft housing on the 70 and "G" share the same F-265 gasket so you 'll have to experiment a little,I'm sure there are a lot more parts that will interchange.
