We were having a disscusion about when the paint color changed. This was after we got the wrong color green. I think it was when they quit using two cylinder engines. A friend says they changed after the letter series. I sure would appreciate any help with this. Big bet riding on it. Thanks

According to Deere, classic green is for the old two-bangers, and the agricultural green is for the New-generation on up... I had also heard somewhere that Deere has gone through something like 17 different shades of green... dunno if it's true though.

Hope this helps!

the classic green that JD has is for the 40 series and below. JD used many shades of green but the classic is the ok color.

I was told that the color change came when the tractors were "styled". Unstyled tractors use the "Classic Green" and the Styled and newer tractors use the regular green.

I'm SURE this topic will open up alot of "beliefs" I myself would like to know what is "right"!
