My dad and I pull case tractors in Floida. We have a friend that is a J/D guy that wants to pull with the big boys in 10500# class. Our rules allow for tracxtors up to and including 1965. He has found a 4010 tricycle front tractor. My questions are. How much would a 4010 weigh dry? How well would it do against Case 930, Farmalls 660,600 and J/D R,720,820. Thanks in advance for answering the enemy

you can get a 4010 all the way down to 5500# if you want to. around here (pa) our 10500 class has a lot of turbos in it (ford 9600 ac's ih 966-1066)(your year restrictions may elimimate these?) a naturally aspirated tractor has a hard time competing. open rpms and mph? what restrictions are in your rules? if your not allowed to add a turbo, think about a gas tractor. I have lots of 4010 pulling parts for sale. write if you think you'll need any.

Our rules for Stock and Antique classes have a 3mph limit no turbo's low gear only. Stock must pull from a drawbar and no hanging weights only bolt on factory frame or wheel weights. 8500# and up 20" pull height max. Antique class can use suitcase weights and do not have to use drawbar. No other classes at this time. Allowed 10% over factory rpm. Hp is not a factor traction is. The competition for this 4010 if my freind gets it would be a Case's 930,800 Farmall's 660,600,wdr9 J/D's R,720,820. How would a 4010 do against these?

i pull an 820 an have no problem with the 4010's or 4020'2. 660 ih are not a problem. super 99 olivers make alot of noise but they fall short. i pull 2nd gear in 8500-10500 an low gear in up to 15000. just an opinion but i would buy a 820 or 830 if he wants to stay with the green.you"ll have alot more fun an make alot of people mad. later richard

I would say you boys would be looking for some green tractors. It would probably not be such a problem getting under the 10500 weight and you are looking at a tractor that could probably turn around 100- 125 horses without a lot of modifications. And if it has a power shift..... woo hoo. I may be wrong but i would say he would be looking right

A 4010 won't have powershift, but a 1964 or 1965 4020 certainly might have it and still be older than your 1965 year specification!

No problem. Let him try. The only one he will not out pull is the 820 and a close pull with the 720. So go ahead try him out for size.
