I recently inherited a 435, after my father's long bout with pancreatic cancer. He had talked about restoring the tractor someday. I have taken on this challenge. Now that you guys know the whole story, here's what I need to know. Did the 435 ever have power steering as an option? Also this tractor has mix matched hubs, one is flat and the other one is made like a bowl, rounded like. The motor was done by one of my dad's friends who works at Clark Detroit in louisville ky. The motor is excellent. the rest of it is "in the eye of the beholder". Thanks for reading, and any info would help alot. Silver

Some parts can be raided off cheaper/more commom slant steer 420's, 430's & some 1010's. A set of manuals will show what mixes & matches plus what belongs where on your tractor. Power steering was avalable but in those days"why pay for power steering on a tractor, especialy a small one?" was the common response. Was the engine done with "S,N or T" series componets & what size injectors?

N series components, am not sure about the injector size. If I were to use the make up pieces would it be appropriate? I appreciate the info. I have seen through auctions that power steering is very rare, like what you were talking about when the farmers bought them. No need for power steering on a little tractor. Just something that Daddy wanted. All I can do for him now.

I intend on the best of care, when I get it all together. About the power steering, my local gas station man told to keep those new three rib tires pumped up tight and I would think that I did have power steering. We tried it on our 990 Oliver and could not believe the difference. Thanks for the input..... ..... ....Silver
