Ace:

I don't see that number in either the "L" or"LA" parts book.

This isn't by chance the split pulley that goes on the drive shaft is it? If so then it may be part of a mower kit. Russ

I wouldn't know a split pulley if it hit me. I'll try to post a pic, but it is easier to send it in an E mail.....AC

Send photo to [email protected]. A pulley for the drive shaft is about 6 inches wide and 4 inches in diameter and is metal. Used to drive a belly mower. Russ

Ace,

Frank was just trying to help. You have giving us the casting number not the part number. The casting numbers for the main quill on the L & La tractors were L 527 T & L 233 T. Lets use the process of elimination. Yours does not have L 233 T. It does however have the L 527 T. Must be for a L or LA.

No problem guys. I was just a little late getting back.

Here's the picture Ace e-mailed me. I thought it would be better to have it here to discuss. It looks like the parts book illustration for either an "L" or "LA", but I sure don't know which it is.

First you need to have your photo on a server on the internet. If you don't have a personal webpage, you can upload it to the "Parts and Pieces" section of this forum, which I did. Go to the photo and right click anywhere in the picture. Then click "properties". Cursor down to the "Address (URL)" and hold the left button down as you sweep across the address to highlight it. Then right button and click "Copy". Now the address of the photo is on your clipboard.

Then you'll write your message here, and down below the message box where it says "Optional Image URL:", you'll paste that picture address there.

This pulley will fit both L & LA. The width of the pulley was optional on both tractors. This pulley will bolt on & work on any L, LA or LI tractors including the un-styled. The only L series it will not fit is the model 62.

The number L527T was the casting number on the main housing & not the pulley's book part number.

Take care all

Dale

The pulley's hub will have a number on the inside of it. For the L,La it is 2206T and the # for the M or MT is 261T. You may have to take the pulley off shaft to find #'s

NO! NO, NO I re read what I wrote and I ABSOLUTELY didn't mean that like it sounded. Frank has helped me before, and I would never mouth off like that. I was raised better. PLEASE accept my apoligies. I just meant, let's rule out the possibilities. Thank you all for your help. I am really sorry for the misunderstanding....Andrew

Well, the belt pulley for both the "L" and "LA" is AL 2206 T. I dont' see a number close to yours in the numerical index.

Send me a pix if you like.
