I Have a 3010 Diesel and on Saturday I was mowing with it. I quite about 12:30 To eat and run some earns. Got back around 2:30 And started to mow again got to were I wanted to mow and the PTO would not come on. The handle would just flop back to the off postion. Went back to the barn and took of the bottom cover and the shaft that the operating fork rides on had slid all the way to one side. Took a hammer and punch and drove the shaft back . My question is how long should this shat be? After repositioning the shaft had to adjust the linkage the pto worked fine. Do I need to replace the shaft and bushings? Also the pto brake does not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated

the brake pad is probably worn out.you would have to split the tractor to fix it.if your going to use it alot for mowing it would probably wear out again, unless you use an overrunning clutch.you dont need to change the shaft,i dont know exactly how long there suppoised to be but when it happened to me i just put a spacer in the hole so it couldnt move sideways and put in new expansion plugs
