Last season I purchased a used 345 lawnmower. When I mow it is after work in the evenings and the grass is slightly damp and the deck likes to plug up very easily. The strange thing is my old cub cadet never plugs. When looking up parts for spring tuneup I noticed there is an optional high lift blade. I currently have regular blades. Which blade is better?

I think that you will find that the high lift blades are used when you are using a bagger and need to move a lot of air to get the cuttings to the bag. Also they will sweep ground just like a vacuum sweeper so that any grass that is not well rooted will be pulled up.
Hope this helps.
