I am in the process of restoring an unstyled B basket case. Thought I was about 80% done.Seems I am getting water in the crankcase. Head gasket had a slight drip at the bottom. Could it have been leaking into the oil passages as well? No apparent cracks. I used spray copper gasket sealant on the head gasket. Is there a better sealant to use? I also saw water in the pushrod galley's in the block. The push rod tubes in the head have been replaced. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Allen Heilner

Allen, sounds like you might have a leaking pushrod tube (quite common on the old B's). The push rods run through the waterjacket on the unstyled B & have steel or brass tubes running through the head water jacket to keep the water out of the engine, they rust out from age or can get damaged if too long an exhaust stud is used or the exhaust studs were drilled out, as they run under the exhaust manifold stud holes.

you may have to put thread sealer on the rocker arm mounting bolts. had to do this on a 37 A

Did you use new lead washers on the head bolts
