Hey guys, I spotted a plow sitting in a fence row the other day. It is a JD 3 bottom hydraulic-lift plow, model unknown. It has coulters on it with a straight lead coulter and a smaller angled coulter next to it. The coulters are small and will need replacing. The tires hold air, but will need replacing also. He has a good back tire for it. It has the original cast iron lift cylinder for it with the hoses, but it leaks.
Anyway, its for sale so how expensive does it get to fix one of these up and how much is this thing worth?
Thank you
48 G Nate

I have a 3-14 hydraulic lift JD plow I use every year to plow about 10 acres with. I'm not that familar with JD plows but the ones I've got have syracuse bottoms on them. The plow points are $30 a piece and easily broken if you hit a big rock as its old enought to not have trip bottoms. I paid $200 dollars for them several years ago. I think plows new enough to have trip bottoms go for a couple of hundred dollars more on average.

Nate, I spent $40.00 on a 3 bottom last summer, then promptly spent $60.00 on a tire, and $8.00 on a tube..... ..

I just finished restoring a 2 bottom hydraulic lift plow, a 44H. The shares, if cast iron are hard to come by. I found two on Ebay. I lucked out and found two dealers with new moldboards. The dealers still have some of the small parts depending on the model. The cylinder can be rebuilt by a hydraulic repair shop. Used parts should be available. I paid $350.00 for the plow and have another $350.00 in it.
