Local dealer wants $150 to rebuild my pump. Found one on line for $125. My luck with commercially rebuilt parts is not good. Would I be better off to have the local dealer do it with Genuine JD parts or am I paranoid? Any other options would be appreciated.

Thanks, CPeter

If you have a press, you can rebuild the pump yourself. Measure the location of the impeller on the shaft and put it back in the exact location. And be careful of the Ceramic Seal. Rebuilding the pump in not a hard job. Now I myself, if I did not have a press, would have the dealer rebuild the pump. You would get a better warranty with the dealer job I would think. If the dealer messes up, then he is close and you should not have to wait long to have him redo his work.

Thanks for the input. I think I will have the dealer do it. That way if they break something, they can fix it. They said that the impeller usually breaks and that is $60 of the cost.
