Called local JD dealer this morning to order
(1) A 2123 R sector for '49 "A" tractor.
Guess what-not available-nothing in dealer/net
inventory. Don't want to take chance on used.
Any suggestions ? Appreciate some ideas. tnx

I wouldn't be afraid to put a used sector in it. If you keep it lubed it should just about last forever. I've never replaced one on any of my tractors. The adjustment to take up wear is easy and its not that hard to replace it again if it ever wears, which is unlikely. I would replace the seals in the front end while you have it apart. They all seem to leak after a while, and that makes a mess. Try Shorty Dear for parts. Good luck, Paul

You mean the sector gear for the steering? I priced one for my B a couple years ago. Still available for $110.00 !!!!! Good luck on your A. I have no help to offer.
