I have a gravity shutting exhaust pipe cap at faster speeds ,it sounds ok,but at idle it sounds tinny I was looking to see if someone made a quiet one .If it had an ignition switch,it could have a solenoid to open when turning on to start

Sir-I have a flapper on my "A". To stop the noise I tightened the bolt the flapper pivots on. The flapper will open and stay open. When I shut the tractor down, I close the flapper by hand. I prefer this to listening to all that noise. JIM

Well, they all do that at idle. The poppers more because they fire less often. I have a 4 cyl tractor which flops just as much at idle but at a faster rate. I don't mind it. If it bothers you simply take it off and if you park it outside put a can over the exhaust pipe. Used to do that but after forgetting it a few times and launching it rather high in the air when she started, I put the rain cap on it.

Snurt say are you kidding? Snurt love lovely sound of mr. jonney pooper. Snurt could listen to rain cap go pting pting all day long, while poopin johnny go for big ride drinking lovely buckhorn beer and lysol toilet fresh, until jonney squeel with delight and let out a big whoop, and his big old crudely fashioned flywheel falls off! Snurt think you must have psychological problems to not like rain cap! So take it off! Let big old green mule sit outside, and may the rain run down his pooper smoking pipe and freez his moter up!-you dumb fool! Snurt say you better go see old ape and monkey over himalaya and they say... "tellum tailer sent ya!"
