Will 60 pistons fit into a later styled A actually a 1946 A? I have an A bored over .045 and was told that 60 pistons would fit.

I put 60 rods in a 1945 "AR" with the "AR" pistons and that worked good. The reason was that the 60 rods have insert bearings instead of babbit type. We did this after machining the crank.

The Late A and 60 blocks are the same part number.. but I think the change was after your tractor.. but the Rods and pistons are the same size.. both have the 3 journal, and the rods are 13in long.. (same length as a G rod) Good luck

Roger, I have a 1945 A that has 60 pistons and rods in it. They had been installed by some previous owner I guess. The pistons, by the way, are .045 over. It runs fine with no problems.

Just to back Larry up , A friend of mine had a late "A" with "60" pistons in it. That is what he told me anyways.
