The service manual says I need a special tool to adjust my clutch. I have the synchro-range transmission. the manual shows how to make your own template for the powershift but not the synchro-range. Can anyone tell me how to make one or do I have to buy one?
Thanks,
John

I think i've got a pattern for one i made several
years ago.I borrowed one from JD,traced it on a
piece of tin and cut it out.I could probably
trace it on paper and send it to you if your
interested.

Ray, Thanks for your offer, but I found a friend of my dad's that had a template. I borrowed it and have the clutch adjusted now.
Thanks again,
John

You do need the tool to set the clutch fingers at the same height otherwise the release bearings will not ride straight, the fingers will wear, and the bearings will have a short life. Try to borrow a tool or you can bring the clutch and flywheel to your dealer and they can adjust it for you, takes less that a hour.
