I recently had a hydraulic repair to our 3010 and the dealer forgot to add hydraulic fluid. It only had the fluid that was remaining after I shut it off in the field. I went to pick the tractor up after hours. The wind chill was 0 or less so I started the 3010 and got back in the truck with my wife. After letting it warm up for approximately 10 to 15 minutes I got on it to road it home and discovered I didn't have a clutch, brakes or steering. To make a long story short it took 6 gal to fill so it only had about 3.5 gal of the 9.5 capacity. For those of you that have some knowledge in this area, what do you think this situation has done to the pump.

A 3010 has a dry type manually operated clutch, a lack of hydralic oil will not cause a clutch malfunction. 3.5 gal. of oil is enough to lubricate the pump, main and charge, unless you were using the hydralics or operated for a extended distance you should not have damaged any thing. You didn't say what was repaired, how far you drove it or how the steering and brakes worked after you added oil. Did the clutch start working after you added hydralic oil?

The seat frame broke in the field and came down on a metal hydraulic line under the seat frame cover, which caused hydraulic fluid to be pumped out on to the ground. I never drove the tractor, but it ran at 1300-1500 RPM's for approximately 10-15 minutes. Everything worked after the 6.5 gal of fluid was added, but the front end loader is slow and the front pump (always noisy on these tractors) sounds different. I feel the front pump was damaged. It won't hardly lift a 1100-1200 lb. bale when the clutch is pushed in. The smaller rear pump is only 3-4 yrs. old. If the front pump was damaged do you think there is a chance that the rear was damaged also?

Suonds like the charge pump is bad. Check standby pressure at the remote, should be 2000 to 2300 PSI, if it is Do a flow check of the charge pump by connecting a flow meter between the transmission filter bypass and the pipe to the main pump, left side of tractor. If it is beloqw spec the charge pump has to be replaced, if it is in spec then look at the main pump.

chances are that the pump may not be bad again. I would go back to the dealer and try to see if they will put in a new one. Also be sure that the pump in the rear end is still good.
