4320 loader plumbing

I am considering mounting a loader on a 1972 4320 JD I recently purchased with two outlets. The question I have is what is the best method for operating the loader. Should I purchase the high priced 3rd control, a joystick control, or plumb it directly(if so where and how). I will need three controls, the lift, tilt, and grapple. It would be nice to still have access to the two outlets. Any opinions? Also any ideas on the best used loader option for handling 1000-1500lb round bales.

When I put loaders on these tractors I used separate control valve that mounted on the loader.
We added a power beyond block that sandwiched between the rear remote valve and the tractor this provides constant pressure feed to the loader
control valve without interfearing with rear remote operation. These power beyond blocks were made available for the 30 sieries tractors but work on all the side console 20 series. The return should go into the special hyd. filter cover that one of the other posts mentioned. Returning the oil this way bypases the transmission pump and provides more oil to the main pump especially when useing the foot clutch.

Hooked up loaders when I worked for the JD dealer many moons ago on 4020s and the like. Believe the 4320 should have similar plumbing. We usually used a separate valve for the loader so remotes were still open. We got a cover that replaced the one on the hydraulic filter but had an outlet, available from JD. Used that for return, plumbed into the pressure line under the dash, with a T I believe just behind the engine. Worked good. Be sure you have closed center valve or you will have pump problems. Not sure of the best type. Believe the 148 or 158 are the ones used and go on and off easily. Advantage to using remote outlets is if you have a cab but you should be able to work it out anyway. If you can find someone with a similar loader and look at their plumbing would be the easiest.

you dont say what trans you have.if you have a synchro,it is probably like the 4020,and the trans pump will stop turning when you push the clutch in.you will still have hyd for a short time, but they might give up on you while the clutch is depressed.that is a good reason to plumb the return line into the filter housing.this will supply fluid to the main pump so the hyd's will last longer when the clutch is in.there is a fitting on the right side of the tractor, just ahead of, and below the throttle pedal, put in a tee and get your supply from there.
