I got a set of nos 70 lp pistons and rings .o45 over and have a 70 gas standard that needs a rebuild. I can bore it out to fit but will these pistons cause trouble or will the higher compression give me more HP ? Any help will be appreciated

Hey,
i read the question and am have some ?'s also. I thought i remember reading in Green Magazine that if you did this, the pistons would get melted or torn up in some way. I would like to hear some input about this.
thanks,

Bob, the LP pistons will increase your compression ratio to about 7.3:1. They will make a real horse out of your 70. They may be a little extreme for everyday heavy use, but for occasional use they will really wake up your tractor. I run propane pistons in my pulling tractor and get along just fine. You may have to run premium fuel, but I wouldn't hesitate to use them. Hope this helps. Mike
